The CMA Charter

CMA or Chartered Management Accountant is a globally recognized professional certification by the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) in the field of financial management and Management accounting. A CMA certification signifies an individual possesses in-depth knowledge in diverse areas like financial planning, financial analysis, decision support and professional ethics. In order to become a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Candidates require to fulfil the following requirements.

  • Become a member of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA)
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
  • A minimum of 2-year continuous working experience in the field of Management accounting or Financial management
  • Enroll in the CMA program 
  • Pass the Part – I & II of the CMA Examination

 

The CMA Examination

To earn the CMA designation, a candidate must pass both parts of the exam described below. 

CMA Exam is held three times every year at Prometric centres, in the months of

  • January – February
  • May – June
  • September – October
